(I'm pretty fluent in Tongan now if you hadn't noticed. haha) It was so good to hear form you all.
Like I had mentioned to you all today is the day of transfer calls, and neither one of us thought we'd leave. Especially because they usually call earlier in the morning and we didn't get a call until almost 10. The phone call was pretty interesting. Elder Katoa's getting a "special assignment" our mission president said. He's going to be with a new Elder, Elder Veni, that's only been out for 1 transfer, and he came from straight off the island of Tongan. That's going to be pretty cool for him, but weird for that elder to come here. Talk about culture shock coming to little old Menomonie Wisconsin. AS for me in case you couldn't already guess I am being transferred. I'm going to the Rochester Zone south of the Twin Cities. I'm going to the Kasson area which is another branch I guess. Except this branch is even smaller and doesn't even have enough members to have their own building yet. They rent a building and President Howell told me on the phone that the stake president has been praying for them to get a building, and that's what he wants me to help them to do. We'll see how that goes. I'm going to be serving with Elder Russell down there too, so I thought that was kinda cool. I'm really excited to actually be serving in Minnesota in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission, but I have really enjoyed this area and I'm going to miss the members here. I'm sad Elder Katoa and I don't have another transfer together. He's so cool and we've gotten along so well. He's gonna so great here though. I taught him well. ;)
There's been some crazy weather here the past few days. It's been up around 40!! I was like what the heck is this? I forgot that the sun can produce heat and not just light. It's crazy how warm even 32 feels now. We were walking around yesterday tracting and I only had my suit jacket on because I have to between October General Conference and April General Conference. Otherwise we would have been in just our white shirts. That's how good it felt. The only problem now is that with all this melting snow it's going to turn back to ice and then that's going to be a big problem in and of itself. I guess we'll just deal with that as it comes, but as for now we're just counting our blessings of 35 degrees!!
I did send my license papers in a couple weeks ago, and I just got the package from you guys as we were walking out the door. Is that the paper copy that I got form before I left or a new one? Thanks for the package though!! That new stationary and the cookies are gonna be great! Thanks for the letters too!! I really enjoyed reading them. Even Brady's very thoughtful "letter because you hate writing".
Like I said thanks to everyone that was able to write me this week! It really means alot.
Dad: I thought I'd respond to you first because you "beat mom" haha. That was really funny. That's so awesome about your new job! I can't wait to hear about it. It means alot what Grandma said to because it really was a miracle being able to teach all those students.
Mom: I'm just curious if we ever got those pictures of the family that Alicia took printed or what happened with those? If there are prints of them I'd really like to see them if that'd be alright. I'm glad you were so nice to Dad as to let him write me first. Because you're right being the best and number 1 gets old after awhile I've learned that over these 19 years! ;) hahahaha
Nick and Tati: Thanks for the advice about the missionaries. That's really too bad that they looked so much like they hated life. I'll keep that in mind. About the blog password you can just take it off so anyone can see that's fine. Who else of my friends has one?
Kat and Tom: Thanks so much for the card! That's awesome about your tests too. Way to go!! I am feeling better yes, and don't worry about me needing a coat. Like I said I won't need one here pretty soon and look how long I've survived with that great one that I have. haha Thanks for the concern though.
Well sorry my email wasn't too long this week either. I'm including some pictures on of the lake out here so you can see what I was talking about with all the cars and people out there. My email next week will probably be longer because I'll be in a new area with all new information to share. I hope everyone's doing great and I can't wait to hear from you guys. I love and miss you.

Super Bowl
Hello Crafts,
To start off with how bout them Packers huh?! haha Even though I'm not a Packers fan it still was pretty cool being here in Packers country when that whole thing was happening. Yesterday was kind of a bust day because of the Super Bowl. At least for us as missionaries. We had an early lunch with our new branch mission leader and his wife that just moved out from BYU. They're way funny, but we had to go there early because they were going to another member's house for the Super Bowl. So from the hours of 4:30ish- 9 we knew that 1- no members would want to talk to us, 2- our investigators would all be watching the game too, and 3- any door we knocked on would not be a very welcoming interruption. Packers football is religion here. That's what made it difficult for us, but instead of just sitting inside for those 4 1/2 hrs we went and walked around EVERYWHERE to try and talk to anyone that might be out or people that weren't watching the game. We walked a total of a little over 8 miles round trip and it took almost 4 hrs. Too bad for us there were only a handful of people out and about to talk to. It was cool to know that we were at least out trying to work and still be missionaries even though it's something I might not wan to do again. haha What made it nice is the fact that it was in the high 20s so we weren't even cold walking that long. It sounds like the weather there's just too much for everyone to handle being 50 degrees and all. Man you guys are lucky! I can't wait for this myth I keep hearing about called Warm Weather that supposedly happens around here. Even though like I said I am out here in Packer country it still has been really funny for us to see all the Fair Weather Fans come out from hiding. Yesterday everyone and their dog was sporting Packers something. Either actually on them or their car and if not there on their house. Plus people were painting "GO PACK" and stuff like that all in the snow mounds on the side of the road. We passed a college house that had a huge group of people out on on the snow they'd piled up and painted all in their Packers gear with a keg and big sign that said, "you honk we drink!". It kinda made me laugh at how ridiculous it was and how many car horns we heard go off for that whole tailgating party. haha
It was warmer yesterday but it has been back down in the negatives most mornings again. Nothing too bad but just enough to make me think that Spring really is a myth that I'll never get to witness. Luckily for me I have a scarf the size of a hammock that I can wrap around me and not have to worry about being cold! :) The one thing that's not so cool recently is everyone we talk to keeps asking our ages, and because it was Elder Katoa's birthday last week he told them 20. They all thought he was at least 24-25 and the thing that's not so cool is everyone's guess for me has been 17 to maybe 19! I was like what the heck is this? I thought I deserved a little credit, but it is what it is. There's one way legit kid we contacted on campus that we're teaching now named R. that thought I was 24 he said, so needless to say I like going to teach him. haha jk Our campus contacting has seen alot of miracles. Not only R., but there were two girls that came to check out Sacrament from the college that we taught in our Gospel Principles class. They were there for a project we found out but they were still really interested and asking questions after we answered the ones for the project. We called them to set up an appointment so we could teach them again and they said they were really interested. In fact they invited us to come to their Non-Denominational Christian group meeting on Wednesday night. We were way excited and went to the meeting Wednesday hoping for the best and expecting the worst just to be prepared. It went so so well!! There were 10 students there that were all interested and asking sincere questions about what we taught. The spirit was so strong and Elder Katoa and I remembered our training and bore testimony very frequently throughout the whole lesson. It was a very powerful experience to be able to testify the truth of what I know to them and to feel that they were understanding. The miracle of it was that they all want us to come back this Wednesday to teach them again and bring the Books of Mormon that we had talked and testified so much about. We were blessed enough to get 8 new investigators that night! It was a miracle I could not believe and helped build my testimony of hard work and obedience bringing miracles to our lives. It was such a cool experience and not one that missionaries get to have very often. Our mission's standards of excellence goals are at least 4 new investigators/ week and so this week being able to get 9 is something I don't know that can happen again. This is we I've been calling Menomonie the land of miracles!
Well here's the response for Mom and Dad. Sorry I don't have one for each of you.
Mom: I can't wait to hear where Tavan's going. That's gonna be pretty intense! -40 is the temperature that they tell the mission that we need to stay in. That's -40 with windchill too,so that doesn't really happen here when we are usually out. So basically there's never a time when they tell us to stay in. haha It's just helping to make us tougher. This tile sounds pretty cool. I can't wait to see the pictures. I had no idea you were even doing that. Leave it to Brock to do that for us too. He's the man! Brandt sounds like he's right in the funnest stage. I can imagine him laughing and smiling at everyone, and the thing that makes me laugh and smile is the fact that Camie's going to have him on one hip and the new little one on the other. It hasn't really hit me that she's pregnant again, but everytime I think about it I just laugh. Not cause I'm doubting her as a Mom or anything but just at the fun she's going to have. haha
Dad: I'm happy to hear about the garage. :) haha I'll continue to pray for you guys and the job hunts for everyone. Where would you go back to school at? Weber State? I would love if everyone could write me a letter tonight. I'm looking forward to that and the package! You guys don't have to do that though. If you send it this week though I'd just send it here to Menomonie because transfers are next Monday and they could hold it at the mission home for a little longer until that's all over in case I do leave.

Hey Family,
What's up everyone? Well not too much new with me that's all that crazy this week. I'm glad to hear Cevering did so well at his farewell. I knew he would and that he's going to be an amazing missionary. He's gonna tear it up in Chile! I think Weav's farewell should be next week or the week after cause he's leaving pretty soon too. I'm glad to hear my friends all still remember me and are thinking of me while I freeze here. I think if you tell them the best way to find out how I'm doing would be to actually write me a freaking letter it would be for the best! haha jk It works just as good to have you guys keep the entourage informed. ;)
So last week wasn't actually too cold for most of it. We had some crazy "heat wave" for a couple days that we got up in the high 20's almost to 30 degrees. I didn't know what to do with myself. I almost pulled out the short sleeved dress shirts, but I figured all good things must come to an end, and I was right because today it's back down 15-20 degrees colder and snowing. But hey at least we're on the positive side of 0. haha When we had those warm temperatures we got a bunch of freezing mist that was a giant pain in the butt though. It just covered our car and everything else in this thin layer of ice that made walking and driving in some places a bit treacherous. It was weird because it hung in the air too. We'd just be walking and feel it hit your face and we could see what looked like glitter just hanging there. It was pretty weird, but we survived.
Here in Menomonie we have a lake called Lake Menomin that's right by Main St. and the highway coming into town. Cars have been driving out there to ice fish since December, so that's no big deal. On Saturday there was a whole little village set up out there with probably 100+ cars. We could hear snowmobiles out there too. They were having snowmobile drag races out across the lake. It was kinda cool to just watch them for a second. They had two plowed lanes that they would just scream down, and to think that it was all on top of the water was way cool. It's gotta be some pretty thick ice to support everyone out there, and it's something they do every year too. I just don't know if I'd have enough faith to try and drive out there. Elder Katoa and I thought about it but then we figured, not only is it against the rules, but sinking a car that was provided by other members of the Church might not be the greatest thing to try and deal with let alone explain to President Howell.
The other cool thing about being here in Wisconsin now is the fact that the Packers made it to the Super Bowl! The bad part is that we hear the Steelers are a really good team, so we'll see what happens next week. There's going to be no point in tracting during the game because no one will even answer the door. I just hope that they win so that we have a lot of really really happy Wisconsinites to talk to. If they lose it might not be such a great day to go around and try to talk to everyone about Jesus Christ and how His Gospel can bless them in their lives. Strangely enough I don't think they'll wanna hear it. We figure either way, win or lose, they'll all be intoxicated and we might get to talk to them because of that. haha
I don't really have anything else to write about that's cool or exciting. I haven't had any new animals that I've gotten to eat yet in case you all were wondering. As far as I can tell I don't have any new parasites living inside me from what I've already had either.
Kat and Tom: Good luck with the test! I hope all goes well and you pass so that you can handle any other thing thrown at you like you said. haha I like the pictures you attached. Brandt looks way cute! I think not only Mom but Camie and Natalie are going to kill you for posting those pictures on the internet. I was afraid for anyone looking at my screen here at the library that might think I was raised in the circus with the clowns.
Grandma Craft: I hope they organize temple trips for you too because it is such a blessing to be able to go. I wish that we could go more than quarterly here as missionaries, but I look forward to when I can even more because of it.
Mom: I did get your letter that you wrote at 5 a.m. but I haven't gotten one from anyone else yet. I feel bad that I can't write all of you a letter each week. I just don't have the time. I did send Sidne a letter though! I don't know what she's talking about because it was sent with those other ones and was like 2 pages long front and back. It took forever! I think I sent it to her house address, but I can't remember. I could have sent it to her apartment at Utah State, so if you could just let her know that I did send it I just don't know which address she needs to check that's be great.
Nick and Tati: Thanks for giving me your address. You were the only sibling that I didn't have an address for. Congratulations Dr. Craft! I'll keep praying for you so you can have the job opportunites come up. I can't believe you guys drove 1mph through that snow storm! That is terrible!! I guess it would be bad for people though if they've never driven in it. Especially 5 inches.

Can't Wait for the Cold to End
Hello Crafts,
Sorry everyone that I don't have any crazy funny stories for this week. So far we've avoided that raccoon stew again. It can only go on so long though before I finally have to eat it. haha I can't believe that Hooper is in the 40s! What is this garbage? All last week the warmest it got was in the teens! We got a few more inches of snow during that 2 day "heat wave too". I can't wait for it to warm up, but that's not going to happen until maybe March or April. Luckily I think that I can survive one more month of it. Thursday night/ Friday morning was the coldest it's been here by far. I went out to move the car for Brother G. at about 8 a.m. and the thermometer in the dash said that it was -15 out side without windchill. We called the weather report on our phone to see what the windchill was and it said that it was -30 with windchill that morning. The cool part is that now I've spent so much time out in it that I don't even really start to notice the sold until it's below 0. I figured out a test to know when it -5 or colder. I just go out and breathe through my nose and if it freezes inside then I know it's that cold. I'm becoming my own thermometer and a real man at the same time so it's a win win for everyone! haha At the members house we ate at Friday night too he told us that the night before had been -40 without windchill and windchill dropped it to -60!! That's insane! I wish that I would have known though so I could have gone out and taking a picture in my basketball shorts of it like I want to. That would have been sweet to send home right Mom? ;) haha
I did get the package last monday when we got home from shopping, so thank you everyone! That was sweet! I really like the CDs Brady and the NERF hoop and shaving kit Camie apparently I should be using that here pretty soon is the sign I'm getting, so I'll try my hardest. haha :) You weren't kidding about that scarf either Mom, but I love it!! It's so warm and if ever I need somewhere to sleep I'm wearing a hammock around my neck, so I'm always prepared! :) Seriously though thanks it means a lot that you spent the time on it that you did. Some of the women in the branch told me to tell you that you did a very nice job on it. It's some of the best crocheting that they've seen. So the people of Menomonie were able to see what real fine "Craft"smanship is. haha Nice job!
Sorry it's not very long and I don't have much to say other than I'm super excited to be an uncle again! That's gonna be fun for you 2, Camie and Brock, but I'm excited anyway. I'll have 2 nephews at least by the time I get home.
Dad: That would be way cool if you got the job in Holladay. I hope you do too. I've been praying for you so let me know how it goes.
Mom: I heard about L. from Kat. That's still crazy though. Maybe it will have to be L. That's too bad about A. J. How's the family handling it? And it sounds like J.'s going to be having a rough time for the next little while.
Nick and Tati: I just have a couple questions for you what's the ward and stake you are in and your address? You're the only ones I don't have an address for. Any news on the internship too?
Kat and Tom: I hope everything's going well with school and work. I can't wait to hear from you guys.

Sorry everyone that I don't have any crazy funny stories for this week. So far we've avoided that raccoon stew again. It can only go on so long though before I finally have to eat it. haha I can't believe that Hooper is in the 40s! What is this garbage? All last week the warmest it got was in the teens! We got a few more inches of snow during that 2 day "heat wave too". I can't wait for it to warm up, but that's not going to happen until maybe March or April. Luckily I think that I can survive one more month of it. Thursday night/ Friday morning was the coldest it's been here by far. I went out to move the car for Brother G. at about 8 a.m. and the thermometer in the dash said that it was -15 out side without windchill. We called the weather report on our phone to see what the windchill was and it said that it was -30 with windchill that morning. The cool part is that now I've spent so much time out in it that I don't even really start to notice the sold until it's below 0. I figured out a test to know when it -5 or colder. I just go out and breathe through my nose and if it freezes inside then I know it's that cold. I'm becoming my own thermometer and a real man at the same time so it's a win win for everyone! haha At the members house we ate at Friday night too he told us that the night before had been -40 without windchill and windchill dropped it to -60!! That's insane! I wish that I would have known though so I could have gone out and taking a picture in my basketball shorts of it like I want to. That would have been sweet to send home right Mom? ;) haha
I did get the package last monday when we got home from shopping, so thank you everyone! That was sweet! I really like the CDs Brady and the NERF hoop and shaving kit Camie apparently I should be using that here pretty soon is the sign I'm getting, so I'll try my hardest. haha :) You weren't kidding about that scarf either Mom, but I love it!! It's so warm and if ever I need somewhere to sleep I'm wearing a hammock around my neck, so I'm always prepared! :) Seriously though thanks it means a lot that you spent the time on it that you did. Some of the women in the branch told me to tell you that you did a very nice job on it. It's some of the best crocheting that they've seen. So the people of Menomonie were able to see what real fine "Craft"smanship is. haha Nice job!
Sorry it's not very long and I don't have much to say other than I'm super excited to be an uncle again! That's gonna be fun for you 2, Camie and Brock, but I'm excited anyway. I'll have 2 nephews at least by the time I get home.
Dad: That would be way cool if you got the job in Holladay. I hope you do too. I've been praying for you so let me know how it goes.
Mom: I heard about L. from Kat. That's still crazy though. Maybe it will have to be L. That's too bad about A. J. How's the family handling it? And it sounds like J.'s going to be having a rough time for the next little while.

L. Family Baptism
What up Crafts?
Haha jk I just try to think of new ways to start the emails and that's all I could come up with. I would just to start off with something a lot of you had questions about. The Baptism was amazing! Their names are M. and A. L. I don't know if I already told you that but I figured it won't hurt to say again. It was a great program. I got to baptize M. and Elder Katoa baptized A. It was such an amazing feeling to know I was part of that huge step in their lives. It was very humbling and M. kept saying, "that was so cool" over and over again. I also felt super stupid after the baptism. It's an embarassing story but I figure that all the family that's been on a mission will think it's even more hillarious. So like I said I baptized M. and I thought it was really good. I did have to do it twice because his foot floated up when he was under, so they just wanted to do it again to be sure. That wasn't the embarassing part. I even said the whole prayer right. The problem was that I was so super nervous I somehow forgot that it was just that, a prayer. I didn't even close my eyes! Because I didn't M. didn't either, so he was looking right at me. It was awkward with him 2 feet away staring so I looked back at him about half way through. Elder Katoa was behind us at the door and saw it all unfold. The reason he thought it was so funny was that he said it looked like we were "gazing into each other's eyes". I just started laughing really hard and realized how dumb I really am when he told me this that night. In my defense the last baptism I was at was Natalie's or one of the cousins and so I just had my eyes open anyway. I didn't have to worry about doing anything there. I'm not too worried about it though. The ordinance was done right and with the priesthood, so how dumb I looked and felt's a different story. I just thought you'd all enjoy being apart of my embarassing story.
Other than that the baptism was really great! The program went really well. Our branch here's very supportive of the missionaries. We get fed basically every night. Our ward mission leader, Bro. S. is the man. We just didn't have many people there bacause it was on a Saturday afternoon I think. Everyone was talking to them and congratulating them on Sunday when they got confirmed. I was s nervous about baptizing M., but I was twicw as nervous Sunday because A. wanted me to confirm her and give her the Gift of the Holy Ghost. That was way spiritually nerve racking! I actually closed my eyes on that one and did it without any problems. haha We had another mamber's son baptized after church yesterday too. I told Elder Katoa I wish that we had a weekend like this every week. Always having to fill up the font.
We got some really cool news from Bro. S. this week. He told us that they found out last week his neice, from the Green Bay area on his wife's side, is going to be on this season of Survivor airing in a couple weeks. Her name's A. B. He told us even though we can't watch any of it, but I thought that was pretty cool and that if any of you happen to catch some of the season you could think of that.
Other than that I'm doing pretty good. It ius still cold and will be for another 3 months, so maybe I won't even notice by then. The work here is still going great with alot of miracle each and every day. It really is amazing being a missionary and I love it. I just hopoe that we can continue to see success and find solid people like M. and A. throughout the rest of my mission. I know everyone's always asking what I need, but I'm doing fine. I feel bad asking for stuff, but I just can't get it here. If you could send just another notebook of the paper with the prophets I've been writing my letters on, or any other cool staionary like that I would really appreciate it. That way I can keep writing all those letters I know you love so much! ;)
Grandma: You are a great missionary! Doing all those names and helping to spread the gospel to everyone you talk to. That's so cool. How did your talk go in Relief Society? I wish we could go to the temple each week. We're trying hard to be able to go this transfer sometime. I hope you're doing well and in your callings.
Dad: I don't know if I was allowed to but I saw that video of the 12 year old kid. MAn that brings back memories of when I was 12. . . haha I wish! That was incredible! I can't really take any pictures in my new coat because I don't have one. I use the one from Mr. Mac that Kat and aTom got me and it works fine. For now at least so we'll see how it goes and if I end up getting a new one. As for a picture on my bike I don't use it yet and so I will when I bring it out.
Kat and Tom: First of all I'm not going to make a comment even about L. and what you said. But I agree Tom is the best! He really is such a blessing to our family! What's Brady's GPA at now? That sounds like a good deal for both of them. Especially since Brady will get a tux, the ticket in the dance, and the group picture for free.
Tati and Nick: Don't worry about not writing Tati. I totally understand. I'm glad to hear that you're having a good time with your mom and to know you can relate to how I feel. The mission really is the perfect place for me to be. I know I'm suppose to be here now. Don't worry about sending a package either. I'm doing fine.
Mom: It would be so awesome to be there when M. and A. get sealed, but they're thinking about maybe making a trip out of it to Utah. They've never had a honeymoon either he said so it would giv them an excuse. I hope that maybe I can. I did hear about Cody finally. He emailed me. That's so crazy! That's a long time to wait too. I feel like I'm missing something here. . . .how do I feel about being an uncle again? I'm not sure if this is what I think it is but I need some info ASAP. I haven't gotten a letter from Grandma or Grandpa Burke, but tell them I do love them and miss them. I'm looking forward to that scarf too because I know I'm going to love it no matter what. Thank you so much! I hope it gets here this week!

New Companion
Dear Crafts One and All,
I hope everyone is doing well. I can't remember all that I told you about my new companion Elder Katoa and the transfer situation so I'll just tell you all again anyway. His name's Elder Sam Katoa from American Fork Utah too. How ironic is that? He grew up in the Dallas Ft. Worth area where his Dad was a cop until about 4 years ago when they moved to Utah. His Dad's Samoan so he pretty big. He's an inch or 2 shorter then me but about 70 lbs heavier. He's such a cool missionary. I'm really looking forward to the time we're going to serve together. His testimony's so strong. I guess he's gone down kind of an Alma the Younger route, but from what he's told me the change in him is amazing and I haven't even known him that long. He's got some crazy stories that are for another day. He's been out a little over 6 months now, so technically he's the senior companion here. Funny thing is that I do all the planning and driving because I took over the area so I should know the drill here. Good news is, like I said, I am driving. I called the guy in the mission office the day before Elder Blume left and explained my whole license situation too him and he said I'd be fine. I could have actually driven all 6 weeks of the first transfer, but oh well I guess I just got really good at backing and directing the driver of a car for that time. The last area Elder Katoa was in was the ghetto. North Minneapolis. Brooklyn Center/ Brooklyn Park Area's what it's called. It's been quite the change for him coming over to Menomonie. Even though he lived in American Fork he's not a BYU or a Utes fan really. He signed to play D end of Outside Linebacker for Snow, but he's looking to play anywhere when he gets back. That's a little about my new companion. I hope that answers any questions you guys had.
Taking over the area has been kind of stressful for me though, because like I said I'm suppose to be the one knowing where to go and what to do. That's not always the case though, so planning takes a little while most nights of looking through the Area Book to find out who Elder Blume and I haven't already seen or are teaching. I'm just trying to keep the day full of people to teach, or go see, and areas to do some finding. That way we're consistently busy throughout the whole day being the most effective missionaries we can. There's just so many miracles the Lord's providing here I'm just trying to keep them coming and not get in the way of what He has planned at all.
I'm glad you all liked the pictures. Sorry there's not any this week, but there will be for the next one because I'm actually baptizing a couple this week that we've been teaching from my very first morning in the area!!! I'm so excited for them!! There names are M. and A. and they're being baptized Saturday at 4 p.m.. I'm nervous but very honored that they want me to be the one to baptize them. Mark said that he actually dibsed me awhile ago, so that was really cool when he told me. They also told me on Thursday when we saw them last that they were talking about Elder Blume and I and the other missionaries they've met and decided that I'm the one that's going to be the best dad. That caught me off guard but really made me feel good. I told them it's because I have the greatest example and I've just tried to live up to what he's always taught me. They have 2 little kids, J. who's 4 and S. who's 2, and they told me that I'm the best one with their kids. They said that J. used to always say, " The Guys are here! The Guys are here!" whenever he'd see us coming up to the door for our appointments. J. also loves to draw, so now M. said that ever since recently when I drew J. a picture to keep him focused and calm while Elder Blume prepared them for the baptismal interview, he says, "Elder Craft and the guys are here!" whenever we show up. That really made me feel so good to really see the impact that I have been able to have on their lives. I know that they are people I was meant to meet and I love that whole family. I can't wait to get the pictures for you so you can see them too.
J. H.???!!! Are you kidding me?! This is ridiculous! haha You at least gave her my address right mom? I mean come on that should have been the first thing you talked to her about! ;) That really is so cool though! Sounds like we'll be having a lot more dinners over in West Haven in a couple years.
I have a question you can ask Bishop about that I was just wondering: Was I suppose to give him a scripture or something for a missionary plaque? I can't remember if they're not doing that anymore or what. All the Elders out here have just mentioned something about their scriptures they used so I was wondering.
Kathleen asked about this but I guess it's more for all of you too. She wanted to know if there's anything I still need that I didn't get for Christmas. The answer is kind of I guess. haha I do need a scarf. Just like a good warm scarf I can wear around because even though they said to get that stuff out here I haven't really been able to find it, so that would be awesome. It just has to be dark or conservative in color. The next things are kind of just wants from the family. The first one is a calendar. One that I can hang on the wall of like Greg Olsen paintings or something like that from Seagull Book. The reason I have to ask is because they don't any store like that or anywhere that would sell it out here. I saw a Taylor Swift one at Wal-Mart but I decided one of the Savior would be a little better. Slowly but surely I' maturing in my old age. ;) The last want is some music. I have my MP3 player but I can't hook it up in our car, and the only CD that I have is one that President gave us for Christmas. So if you could just burn some of Josh Groban, The Tab Choir, T-Minus 5, or groups like that that sing songs about the Savior should be fine. I'll just have to get it approved but that's not hard at all. The gospel song "Down to the River to Pray" by Allison Krauss, that Brady and Dad like so much is approved so it just has to be things like that. I would really appreciate that though! Thanks!

Camie, Brock, and Brandt: Thank you so much for the letter and picture! I loved it! Brandt's a little stud in that picture. As for the pictures of course there's a Wal-Mart here. It's the life blood for all the Wisconsinites Packer gear and beer. So it's just here in Menomonie if you can send them there. You'll just have to email me to pick them up and I'll get them when I go get groceries after I email you guys. I look forward to them!
Mom: I knew you'd be impressed with that letter. I just want to know how many mistakes were on those 120+ wpm sheets? I think that's really what matters, so my 4 mistakes to 40 wpm ratio is basically as good as 120 with a page full or mistakes. haha No I haven't heard where Cody's going yet and it's driving me crazy cause I have a feeling it's somewhere crazy! Like I could see England for some reason, so I'll just have to wait until he writes me back. I did get your letter and that was on Friday the 7th. I think it took a lot longer because the Post Office and Mission Office was closed for New Years, and the Mission Office was holding all mail until after transfers so they'd know where we all ended up. I have plenty of money too for food and everything. Don't worry I'm not starving. I'm not home that much to cook and I only have15-20 minutes for breakfast in the mornings but I probably will make French Toast on a Sunday when I have more time thanks for the ideas. :)
Brady: I'm just glad you wrote the letter. Thanks for taking the time to do it. That's a good idea not to have A girlfriend a few of them is always better! haha JK ;) Seriously though, dating around is the only way to do it man.
Nick: That sounds like a sweet job right next to the White House for you. I forget sometimes that you live right next to all of those monuments and everything sweet like that. Did you recognize or know any of the missionaries' names I gave you in the area?

One that I can hang on the wall of like Greg Olsen paintings or something like that from Seagull Book. The reason I have to ask is because they don't any store like that or anywhere that would sell it out here. I saw a Taylor Swift one at Wal-Mart but I decided one of the Savior would be a little better. Slowly but surely I' maturing in my old age. ;) The last want is some music. I have my MP3 player but I can't hook it up in our car, and the only CD that I have is one that President gave us for Christmas. So if you could just burn some of Josh Groban, The Tab Choir, T-Minus 5, or groups like that that sing songs about the Savior should be fine. I'll just have to get it approved but that's not hard at all. The gospel song "Down to the River to Pray" by Allison Krauss, that Brady and Dad like so much is approved so it just has to be things like that. I would really appreciate that though! Thanks!

Camie, Brock, and Brandt: Thank you so much for the letter and picture! I loved it! Brandt's a little stud in that picture. As for the pictures of course there's a Wal-Mart here. It's the life blood for all the Wisconsinites Packer gear and beer. So it's just here in Menomonie if you can send them there. You'll just have to email me to pick them up and I'll get them when I go get groceries after I email you guys. I look forward to them!
Mom: I knew you'd be impressed with that letter. I just want to know how many mistakes were on those 120+ wpm sheets? I think that's really what matters, so my 4 mistakes to 40 wpm ratio is basically as good as 120 with a page full or mistakes. haha No I haven't heard where Cody's going yet and it's driving me crazy cause I have a feeling it's somewhere crazy! Like I could see England for some reason, so I'll just have to wait until he writes me back. I did get your letter and that was on Friday the 7th. I think it took a lot longer because the Post Office and Mission Office was closed for New Years, and the Mission Office was holding all mail until after transfers so they'd know where we all ended up. I have plenty of money too for food and everything. Don't worry I'm not starving. I'm not home that much to cook and I only have15-20 minutes for breakfast in the mornings but I probably will make French Toast on a Sunday when I have more time thanks for the ideas. :)
Brady: I'm just glad you wrote the letter. Thanks for taking the time to do it. That's a good idea not to have A girlfriend a few of them is always better! haha JK ;) Seriously though, dating around is the only way to do it man.
Nick: That sounds like a sweet job right next to the White House for you. I forget sometimes that you live right next to all of those monuments and everything sweet like that. Did you recognize or know any of the missionaries' names I gave you in the area?
Well that's it for this week. I hope everything's going well for you. I'm going after we get done shopping to play basketball with the Branch Mission Leader at the University gym because he's Lt. Col. over the ROTC and he teaches here he can get us in to play. So all the mornings at the gym will hopefully pay off so Elder Katoa and I can "put the hurt on him" and his cadets, as he'd say. A New Year and Stories of Road Kill
Hello Family,
This has been a crazy morning for sure! Transfer calls came in this morning from President Howell at around 9. He called and told me that I'd be getting a new companion. I'm taking over the area here in Menomonie and so I should be here for at least the next 6 weeks. My new companion is coming from the North Minneapolis area and his name's Elder Katoa (I think that's how you spell it). Ironically enough he's from American Fork too. How crazy is that? He's a big old Tongan Elder too so this should be fun. Maybe I'll learn how to do the Hawka legit now. I'm excited but scared too. I don't know what I'm doing and I told Elder Blume I just hope I don't get in the way and screw up the Lord's will here for the people. Elder Blume is pretty excited. He's headed to Thunder Bay Canada! He was so surprised. There's only 4 Elders up there out of the 200 in the whole mission. It'll be pretty cool for him. Like literally freezing cold. Not only is he headed to Canada for the coldest part of the year he's in the bike part of it. That's gonna be a definite experience for him he'll probably never want again. He'll do great up there though.
New Years was kinda lame for us and I was totally fine with that. We actually were suppose to come in at 8 that night. President's orders. So I was actually in bed at 9:30 and just woke up to 2011. That's so crazy for me. Now I start my long year of my mission. I'll go all through 2011 out in the field. It's gonna be pretty cool!
In other news: you guys remember the guy I told you about wanting to feed us racoon? Well we dodged it so far except for the fact that I'm gonna be here another 6 weeks and can only make up so many excuses and avoid it for so long. We were at his Mom's, Sister C.'s, for Christmas, and we found out just how far in the back woods we are. They started talking about this new buck that they had to go pick up that got hit by the gas station. Apparently they drove by and saw it the other night. A semi took it out, so they wanted to get it before anyone else could. I., the guy trying to feed us, said, "That's 100 lbs of free meat". And the other son B., that just got home 2 weeks ago from the Las Vegas Mission, said, "I know. When I'd tell people about all the free meat we get they'd look at me like I was crazy". I am dead serious right now. These people eat road kill! I had to focus so hard to not let my jaw drop and look at them like you are crazy! I seriously shouldn't believe it and it made me a little concerned as to where the turkey we were eating came from because they started to talk and reminisce about the greatest "pick ups" they've ever gotten. They are some of the nicest people I know. Very active in the church, but road kill. That's when I realized. . . . . I am in Wisconsin. That was my crazy experience of the week along with the baptism we had yesterday. His name's D. G., he's 9 and his dad B. is a recent convert. He was baptized a couple months ago by Elder Blume and his old companion when they were in Hudson. Elder Blume knows the family really well and it's been cool to hear how much they've changed and to get to know them. It's cool to see all the miracles going on here.
The weather's been so weird. It got up to 40 last week and rained for a couple days. Yeah it was super sweet until it dropped down in the teens again that night and now there's a layer of ice over everything. Driving someplaces is like ice skating with a car. Luckily for me I don't think I'll ever have to worry about getting in an accident because I won't drive on my mission. haha jk ;) thanks for figuring my license situation out for me. Until then I'll just be the navigator.
Now to try and answer the individual questions:
Nick- Sorry I didn't tell you last week but I forgot. Elder Calvert from Denver, Elder Taylor from Tokyo, Elder Merrill from Rexburg, and Elder Naylor from Twin Falls were all the DC South Elders in my district in the MTC. Sister ward from West Jordan and Sister Holt form Arizona were in there too, so if you get a chance to see them tell them I say Hi and that I hope they're all doing well.
Natalie- Sorry I never told you this before but my voicemail password is just XXXX. haha Sorry that's really annoying but really funny for me. Also, where did you come up with the name Aly Al? What the heck is that? Have you been talking to Sidne? As for you English homework. . . good luck. I don't have any tricks for memorizing for you sorry. I wish I could help but I don't think I could identify a pronoun, noun, adverb, and all that in a sentence for you now if I tried. I'm super stoked for that CD! That's gonna be sweet! You'll have to listen to it and tell me which ones are the better ones cause they'll all be good. ;) Don't worry about not talking to me that much. Just make a list of stuff to talk about on Mother's Day and we'll make sure to cover it ok? You're an amazing little sister and I love you. Keep on supporting Brady, and feel free to use my room whenever. I'm glad it helps you! :)
Mom- That's crazy Jacob only gets 3 hrs of light. I was gonna say something about it last week but I forgot. It gets dark here at around 4:30 and that seems so early for me. That's so cool Julianne's sister lives that close now. Did you give her my address and tell her to forward that on for me? haha I haven't actually gotten any mail for the past 5 days, so hopefully I get it soon. I haven't heard from Cody but I can't wait to find out. It sounds crazy. I am feeling much better don't worry about me. We don't go outside now and tract or anything because President Howell told us not to so we can get better. We drive the car everywhere too even though we could use our bikes. They're in G.'s garage and they'll probably stay there because I don't feel like eating it riding on ice and snow, but that's just me. A cruise would be a sweet idea to help me thaw out once I get home.
Grandma- Happy Birthday! Sorry I could be there to wish it to you in person but I hope it went well. I love reading your emails and seeing that you're doing good. I hope all is still well.
Dad- It is starting to get crazy cold here now and I figured Bishop would love to hear that. It should be dropping to -30 or -40 here in a couple weeks without the wind chill so that will be fun. You really rented Eclipse? Dad, I thought I taught you better than that come on. hahah I'm jk I heard a lot of the 14 year old girls love it.. . . . ;) FYI even though he's from American Fork Elder Blume's not a BYU fan.
Brady- Just keep up the search for some good heech that won't stand you up. They are out there you just might have to search beyond the boundaries of Fremont. I hope everything's going good. Try not to stress too much about school. Have you started Conditioning yet? Who's running it? Make sure you take it serious and take roll. That's what gets you to state ;)
Camie- Don't worry about that package. I believe you'll send it and I'll be here to get it when I get it. I'm not too worried.
Kat- Good luck with school! I'll be praying for you. That's be sweet to finish before I got home though. Don't worry about how much you talked to me. I loved talking to whoever would and it just happened to be you the most. haha Whatever cupcakes you send or have sent I guess will be fine. I'm excited.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Dear Craft Family!!
Sorry first of all that I send the emails to different ones each week I just respond to the last one from Dad usually. That's too bad for Chase. Dang it!! I really feel bad. I need their address so I can write him. I'm gonna miss his birthday though, so if you guys could tell him Happy Birthday and that I'm thinking of him that'd be awesome!
Thank you so much for the package! I was really excited to get it! I hope I was suppose to open it and not wait until Christmas because I already opened it. haha Just a quick question though: Am I suppose to send the stocking back after Christmas? Everything you guys sent was great! I love it! For next time though please don't send any more sunflower seeds. I really like them but I can only eat them during my personal study at home sometimes, so i"m not even through the first bag that you sent when I first flew out. Almost a month ago! I never thought I'd make it. The days still seem super long but I've survived so far. Haha I'm sorry that all I could send were some cheesy cards but I don't know what else I could send. I wish I could send you all something cool from here, but the back woods of Wisconsin don't really have much to offer. Not even for the people that live here. That's one thing me and my companion haven't figured out is why people choose to live here. Apparently it's the summers because it's so beautiful around, but we think there's a disease called "The Forgetful Syndrome" that people suffer from. It comes around in April or May and makes people forget that there ever was a winter so they stay here. Then when September/October rolls around and it gets cold again they forget what it was like and are ornery and complain the whole time. As missionaries knocking on there door at night in that freezing cold we get to suffer the side effects of this syndrome. It's great! But that's the best explanation we have for people living here.
I'm so excited to call you guys!! I can't wait! I think what I'll do is call you from the house phone of the people I live it since they'll be gone and said we can use it. Then you'll just call me right back like at the airport. From the information everyone's told me it sounds like between 1-2 pm around maybe 1:30 will be best for everyone when they're all there. So plan on that and I can't wait to talk to you all! I'm hoping maybe I can call Nick and Tati too since they can't be there, but we'll see. Fingers crossed!
As for my companion it sounds like everyone thinks I really don't like this guy. Well that's not true. I just wanna clear up that Elder Blume's a great missionary that I'm very happy to be serving with. He's a great companion and example on how to be a missionary and an effective one at that. The thing that's also true is that he can drive me a little nuts with some of the stuff he does, but that's just how it goes and I guess I should thank him for teaching me patience and how to deal with married life too. To answers some other questions about him he's been out 16-17 months and goes home the first week in August. It's been really funny to see our different perceptions of this transfer. He's thought it's flown by and I'm wondering how I'll ever survive to the end. If the end even gets here! haha Jk but really it is kinda funny how true that is.
Oh yeah shoveling snow has been a great work out. Which is good but sweating in a suit in -5 isn't the funnest thing. Plus, it's something I never thought would be humanly possible. I'll get some more practice with it though because we're having another storm right now that's suppose to give another 6-9 inches. It's funny you said I can stay in shape with it Mom because the 30 minute morning workout's a joke. I'm never motivated to get all into and workout like I did at home. There's only so much that push ups and sit ups can do for you in 30 minutes.
I'm glad to hear that Dad, Brady, and of course Tom can still keep the Tar Heel pride alive. I hope they get better. It can't get much worse than last year. Sorry I can't address everyone specifically again, but I will to those who asked other questions.
Kat and Tom: Thanks for sending a package! I'm excited to get it and try these infamous cupcakes. Camie's just using the cupcake craving as an excuse. We all know she's a recovered childhood Root Beeraholic. It doesn't matter that there cupcakes it's the ingredient inside! ;) JK Camie haha I am looking forward to seeing Harry Potter and to do that marathon too! Everyone here's been telling us how cool it is too, so I'm glad you can rub it in. :) What exactly is the definition of LemonFresh in the dictionary? That's way funny!
Nick and Tati: That's not even a snow storm what you guys had. That is funny they canceled school for it. Are you guys in the DC South MIssion at all? I'm just curious because that's where the other half of my district's at. Tell Tati not to worry and you too about writing. I know you both are crazy busy! Especially with those hours you look. If it makes you feel better I don't get Christmas or New Years off. They told us that's not a P-Day, so we get to call home and then go out and look like normal. I don't think many people will be too willing to listen, so that should make tracting fun. I hope the job search gets a little better for you. Let me know of any news.
Brady: All I really wanted to ask is what you, Katlin, and Chantel talked about at Carol's for so long? I'm kinda worried about that. haha
I hope everyone else is doing great! Sorry I didn't have anything specific for everyone. Tell Carol thanks for the journal. That was way nice! I remember that assembly too Mom. That was crazy but was so fun! It was one of the coolest memories of high school for sure. You're very welcome for inviting you to them all. I was just so happy to see all of you at all my games, assemblies, and everything else you supported me in! You guys are the greatest!! I can't wait to talk to you all! First Record Snow Storm
Dear Family,
I'd just like to start this letter by apologizing to all those who I don't have time to write pesronal response to. I really wish I could I just don't have time or type nearly fast enough. You all have to remember I'm writing all these with the 32 WPM typing ability. Pretty good I know!! ;)
I'll address just things for everyone at the first of this and then answer most of the individual questions later. For Christmas I actually resalize that I have no idea and really don't care what I get.haha I just love and miss you all so much anything from you would mean the world for me! Food's usually good and socks I guess. It sounds really lame but I don't know what else to ask for. It seems to change each time. I just know that anything with the family is fine for me to get. Sorry that's not much help. Next I just wanna ask two major concerns of mine: 1- How's the garage look? And is my 20+ hour labor of love still being used? 2- What's the situation look like with my car? I don't know if I said this in the last email but if you have to please just sell it stereo and all. I can get another one when I get back I just don't want it to be a burdon on the family because I know Brady's trying really hard to get a job but with no luck. Sorry about that Brady I wish you could have one of my old jobs. Just keep looking man. Speaking of which have you gotten any new job offers or interviews Dad? This is more for Kat and Tom I guess but I'm just curious doesn't Tom have a brother named Paul in St. Paul? And you two were just there? Anyway moving on to the next question, has anyone gone to see the lights at Temple Square yet? I miss that actually even though I didn'y go a ton. We just see pictures of it here and tell people about it, and that made me realize how much I really took for granted living in Utah. I've realized how much I love it there. So my advice is to either go as a family or it's a great date idea (Brady ;)), but that's just my opinion. I'm glad you all got to see the news coverage of that because I was living it!! This area is usually the coldest part of the country when you look at the weather, but this storm was rare even for them. My comp and I were inside Friday because we weren't feeling the greatest so we were just trying to make it better before anything serious developed, but then the whole mission was grounded on Saturday. It started snowing early Saturday morning and didn't end until early Sunday morning around 6 a.m. I guess. In that 24 hour time perios it dumped 20 inches alll over the whole area!! It was a crazy blizzard white out and watching it from the window of our apartment was nuts! It did collapse the roof of the Viking stadium along with shutting down the major highway between both states I-94 because there were huge 4 ft snow drifts all over that theyy couldn't get removed. They canceled church in all the stakes of our mission yesterday but no we don't stay inside for that. We only stay in once it hits -40. So we went out with a plan to do some contacting but had to help Bro. Greenwood who we live with move the 2 feet of snow of the driveway and our car for an hour. Once we finished we had to go to the church to get some more snow shovels and ending up shoveling the snow off that sidewalk so people could actually get in. Being the amazing missionaries we are we didn't stop there. We went and dugg a member family's driveway and cars out because once the plows came yesterday morning for the first time they moved all of the packed snow to the side in 3-4 ft mounds. When we drive down any street there's cars buried all over and the snow plowed to the side is as high as the window on the car doors, so it's kinda weird to drive anywhere. It really looks like a barren frozen tundra now with everything covered in feet, not inches, feet of snow. These are the experiences I was waiting for and expected though so I got them. Especially yesterday because we still had to shovel another elderly couple out last night in the middle of nowhere where they hadn't had any plows but there were plenty of giant snow drifts. Plus the temperature was about -10 and that helped to keep the whole experience pretty real. It was pretty warm today actually at a whopping 5 degrees. The best part about this huge snow storm is that now unlike Utah where it can all be melted the next day this will all be here plus some until at least April. I'm looking forward to that.
Now to kinda address each of you so it's a little more personal:
Dad- I'm glad that the pictures I emailed got to you but I can't remember what I sent to help you label them sorry. You can upload anything I send to that blog that's fine and I don't care who's allowed to see it. Whoever you guys want is fine by me. Except tell Mitch that he can't log onto it until that kid writes me back for the letter I sent him haha jk. You can send stuff to the mission home and they'er good about forwarding it to me but for anyone that wants to know my physical address is XXXXXX
Mom- Sorry I didn't answer this last week but yes I know hard to believe people will reject and not listen to us. They must not know who I am ;). Every time someone does though I don't get mad or anything I just think to myself "I hope I'm there when they're at judgment and I get to look at them and go I tried to tell you" so that's what keeps me going. I'm sorry to hear about the show you did. That's a bummer for sure. I hope the next one goes well for you. I'm glad you got the pictures though like I told Dad and that you liked them. I am a little homesick but it's getting better for sure through much prayer and trust in the Lord.
Nick and Tati- How's everything going? Thanks for doing the blog too. That's way cool! Specifically how's the job hunt going and how are you Tati? I haven't heard much about you so I'm just curious.
Kat and Tom- These cupcakes I've been promised sound amazing and I can't wait to finally get them. Thanks again for all the love and emails you both send that help me so much.
Camie, Brock, and Brandt- That's so awesome to hear about Alicia and Heather! They finally realized that all people can repent ;)! jk hah but that really is exciting and I'm glad to hear Brandt's doing great along with both of you.
Brady- You have a new girlfriend huh? Nice work! but I need a picture to approve of it fully haha jk man. I'm glad you're happy but you've probaly already heard it and I'll just say it again: don't get too attached because dating alot of other girls can be really fun too!! Trust me I've been there done that haha JK Basketball sounds like it's going good too. I loved those games! Just keep the pride going!
Natalie- Maybe certain people are more ornery because they're more stressed. Just be supportive and offer to help anyway that you can and it should help. I know you do already to keep up the good attitude and you'll be fine I promise. Yes I've gotten plenty more doors slammed in my face and I still laugh everytime. It's their problem and salvation not mine. I haven't gotten any stocking yet but I look forward to it!
Grandma Craft- Thanks for that story!! That was very cool and amazing that it was a true story. How are you doing? Are you feeling any better? I miss not being able to visit you but look forward to the letters and emails.
Well this was a little longer and more informative so I hope it helps, but the work here is amazing despite the biting cold the work of the Lord never stops. I feel so privelaged to be apart of it and to see the change and joy that it can bring into peoples lives like it has to ours! My favorite thing is to teach the Plan of Salvation because I have such a string testimony of that and I'm so thankful for it in my life! You all are the greatest and I love, appreciate, and miss all of you so much! I can't wait to hear from you again and you'll all be in my prayers.

Weekly Hello
Hey Mom,
Thanks so much for the emails!! You all have no idea how much I love reading them!! Hearing missionaries complain about not having mail or getting overly excited about it makes so much more sense now!! I'm just going to apologixe that this is so short and tell Brady and Natalie I'm really sorry I can't respond to them today. I love them and miss them both so much I just don't have enough time to get it all done and teh only time I'm allowed to write letters is on P-Day. My companion's really good and big on obedience so we obey every rule to the letter, Which isn't necessarilly a bad thing, but much to the satisfaction of all of you that means that I have to get a comb today at Wal-Mart for the dreaded PART!! Yep you read it right. . . a part! I have to wear a part in my hair because it's a rule and we'lll be blessed for our obedience even if I do look like a gomer. Don't worry I think I can pull it off though! ;)
About my license. . . I'm sorry! I looked in that box and there wasn't anything in there so when I left I threw it away and I guess that's where it ended up. None of the notes said anything about it in there, so that's my bad sorry. I get to suffer the consequences now from it and even though I've been given clearance to drive I'm nopt allowed to until I get it.haha Oh well I'm fine being a passenger. When I called I said to not worry about me out here. Take care of everyone there for Christmas. I don't really need anything. I told you maybe an electric razor or photo album but I decided I don't need that razor. I'm not shaving that much yet. Maybe next Christmas though. haha I think other than another photo album if you can find it, or anything with the family's great. Another good idea's just some snacks or food that I can have to go in my bookbag or car because we're not really home to eat. Just like carmel corn or I guess junk food's the best way to describe it. Not a ton though because I don't need it. I'm gonna try to keep my "girlish figure" for when I get back, so too much of it's gonna make me round. haha We just barely finished your fudge, which was amazing, and I feel bad because I don't know when we'll get to drink the hot chocolate. I'm trying I just feel bad not using what you sent me.
Oh I know how you feel because every day's seemed to take so long! It's like I'm in a time warp here. I just miss you all so much and try not to think of that. I just think abou taking it one day at a time and living in the moment because I"ll never get to live this experience again. It's just one day at a time one foot in front of the other I guess. It sounds like things are going good at home. A little crazy with the plane incident but other than that I'm glad everyone's safe and doing good! Tell Grandma I love her and I miss being able to go visit her! FYI if you get a chance to talk to Jacob telll him I met Elder Horgmo and actually flew out here with him. He's the elder from Norway that's here in the MMM too!

I was really glad to be able to talk to you too! It was good to hear everyone's voice! Sorry i couldn't talk to everyone. I am kinda tired still cause i can't really catch up on sleep and i feel a little overwhelmed but oh well. . .the Lord's work never ends.
It's so weird and surreal to think I'm actually here now! In the land of my people! :) haha jk The whole way over on the plane ride I sat by Sister Daniel from my district and we talked about how weird it was to actually be headed out! The flight was only about 2 hours and I got to see all the water and lakes as we came in! President Howell was telling us on the way to the mission home that they have over 10,000 lakes 5 acres or bigger and over 20,000 lakes 3 acres or bigger! Our mission is one of the largest in the world. Land size and number of missionaries. We have 200 missionaries and that's the cut off for all missions. None of them have over that many. We have Elders and Sisters speaking first of all English, Mong, Spanish, and a few like D. P. from the first ward that speak Karan I think that's how you spell it. It's a crazy Asian language and they're the only Elders in the world learning it cause there's such a large population of those people here. I got my first experience in the airport with the weird accent they all have here! Most of the people we've talked to do it too haha I really hope I don't pick that up.
The work started as soon as we left the mission home with planning for the next day. We went to look for some winter stuff a little during the afternoon when we had some free time but couldn't really find much that's good for a good price so we'll try to get it before that storm hits us. I'm assigned in my new area of Monomonie, Wisconsin, so for at least this first transfer I'm not even in Minnesota. Kinda ironic. It's a smaller town about 2 hours East of Minneapolis and we have one branch here with about 85 members in a pretty huge area.
We tracted for 2 hrs yesterday and had some really good conversations with a bunch of cool people. Most of them are willing to listen to you and see what you have to say, but they're almost all Lutheran too and just say that they aren't interested and love their religion. My actual first door approach was a fluke no one even answered and I was so nervous! So I just knocked the next door cause it was a duplex and right as the guy answered the door he said, "Oh. . you guys are the. . .yeah I'm not interested at all!" and he just shut the door. It was pretty funny to me actually. I just laughed and was like wow that actually happened. I still felt love for him and everyone that wouldn't listen because even though they say they're happy with their religion and life right now I know that we have the truth that will bring them complete happiness and a fullness of life that they've never known!
We talk to everyone we see or pass and are always bearing testimony! It's way cool but i definitely need the Lord's spirit to get me through this next chapter of my life. So I'm trying to do the same as you Dad and realize that none of these people that won't listen will ever see me again and at least I know I tried to offer them the gospel and they'll be accountable for not listening. Oh well i guess. Their loss.
My companion- trainer is Elder Blume from American Fork, Utah ironically enough because everyone always assumes the missionaries are from Utah and for us it's true haha He's way cool and upbeat, really funny, and pretty random too. I guess he had a companion that called him Captain Tangent because that's what he was best at. He got transfered new into the area with me.
In case you were wondering about the weather it's not too bad now. No Brady not everything that's made of liquids frozen and the plane didn't have spiked tires to land. Not many of the lakes are frozen over yet but everyone says it will be in a few weeks. I guess they had an ice storm last weekend that was the worst it's been in 5 years! I'm sure Dad and Tom know all about those. Luckily for me it's staying right around 32 degrees but it snowed on us the whole hour we tracted last night which got me pretty wet but not too cold, and the hour we did earlier it was a lot colder because of the wind. Windchill dropped it down to probably in the teens during that hour so just like i expected. I have my coat and ear warmers from the MTC but not too much yet. We'll be getting that soon because the next couple weeks is suppose to get pretty nasty.
We had an appointment that we taught at yesterday and it was so cool that these were actual investigators thinking about joining the church! Not just the mock investigators from the TRC I told you about! So it was kinda nerve racking to make sure to say it all right because what we say is what they believe. That's why the spirit is so important! Their names are M. and A. and they have 2 little kids named J. -4 and S. -2. It really was so awesome to be in their home and teach them and answer their questions. I felt strong love and concern for them and that they understood what all we were saying. M. has a problem with smoking and occasionally they'll drink but that's the only thing they struggle with. They've read through 1,2 Nephi almost twice now and part of Alma, and they had us stop by again for hot chocolate after they saw us tracting their neighbor hood for that hour in the morning and he'd read the reading we left him in Mosiah and 3 Nephi already. They're really solid investigators and I can't wait to see their progress!
We've had dinner with members each night so far. The first night we ate at the member's house that picked us up from the mission home and the house we have our basement apartment in The G.'s. They live right in Monomonie and it's a nice little place they've got for us. Last night we ate at a Less Active family the W.s and today we have 2 Thanksgiving Dinner appointments. The first one here at the May's home where they're letting us use their computer to email. The best part is there's no stupid 30 minute timer in the corner flashing at me to give me an anxiety attack. We ironically enough have our next appointment at the house right next door The C.'s. We're kinda nervous to go there because no lie the son actually moved here with his wife and child to get off the grid and live off the land. They have no bathroom in there house and he loves to hunt and eat Squirrel!! I'm not even kidding! Luckily it's his mother's house we're eating at so we might get out of that.
Well Brady just keep your head up cause I know how stressed you are now but I made it through it so can you. Yes I have my bike but I haven't used it yet. We will though for tracting when we're out of miles. My first thoughts when I stepped off the plane were: "Holy crap I'm here! And for 2 years!", "It's not that cold", and "I wonder what President Howell's like?" He's very nice by the way and greeted us all with a big hug! He and his wife love and care about us very much! I can't wait to serve under them.
Thanks for the package Mom and family! I love all the food but I didn't open it till we got home, so if the fudge is still good by next Tuesday when we go back to the mission home for training then I'll give it to them.

We got a P-day today because of the holiday but we're still going tracting later don't you worry. For anyone hand-writing letters just send them to the mission home for now until i figure out my address I'm at. They're pretty good about forwarding it quick. Just be sure to put Elder Alex Craft or Alexander even A. Craft makes it easier on the lady doing that. I'm not exactly sure for Christmas just maybe like some granola bars or packaged stuff like you sent that i can carry with me along with some of the Gold Toe black socks if you find any. Also, what I told you on the phone's good. Sorry I sound so needy.
